Art quilt. Cloud, flower and sun form the background for the gingham superimposed text that is raw and rough, and loosely stitched across the fundamental image. The whole piece is irregular and textured, stitches meander.
In this work I am exploring the place between the expected and the unexpected, authenticity emerging between tradition and the fleeting. I feel like I am finding new relationships that marry the material and immaterial. Big words for small artefacts, but my intention to create and harmoniously be in the world and in tune with the elemental pushes my practice. Missing the personalised self is one thing, and not really a worry, but missing who I really am, who we really are is something else.
