I'm Here For You.

Working in ways and with mediums that are hopefully less damaging to the earth.  Every day I walk in rural Scotland, I have been documenting the landscape here in film for a long time. With this work I was thinking about the gridded nature of the farmed landscape and imagining how Mother Earth might be feeling and contemplating how I might tread more lightly and more relatedly to her and her feminine counterparts that have been repressed in the name of progress,production and repression. Trying to imagine a new way of being.

This work is made in patchwork fabric and thread and is stuffed in places and the backing is lightly quilted with raw free flowing hand stitching. It is mounted on a frame support but it remains soft to the front.
